To the editor: I learn with alarm that individuals are throwing out Christmas wrapping, ribbons, bows, luggage and containers, clogging dumpsters and landfills. I urge them not to take action. (“Mountains of holiday food and packing waste are clogging landfills. Is there a better way?” Dec. 31)
My household and I save the luggage, ribbons, bows, containers and generally even wrapping paper and tissue to make use of once more. I frivolously iron tissue, which makes it appear to be new.
There isn’t a motive why all of us can not save these things to make use of once more. Folks take heed to their authorities, which ought to urge us to reuse these things which can be too usually thrown away after one use.
